Sunscreen Agents Overview
At Amjad and Zarar NUC, we believe that every formulation deserves top-tier protection—so our Sunscreen Agents line is meticulously curated to shield skin from the full spectrum of UV damage. Chemical filters like avobenzone and octinoxate absorb UVA and UVB rays before they penetrate, while physical blockers such as zinc oxide and titanium dioxide sit on the skin’s surface to reflect and scatter harmful radiation. Together, these ingredients guard against premature aging, sunburn, and the long-term risks of photo-induced skin cancers. Our pharmaceutical-grade active UVAs and UVBs are rigorously tested for stability, photoprotection, and skin compatibility, ensuring your products perform under the harshest sun. Whether you’re crafting a lightweight daily lotion or a high-performance sport SPF, Amjad and Zarar NUC delivers consistency, clarity, and peace of mind. Partner with us to elevate your sun care line—because true protection starts with premium ingredients you can trust.
1. Avobenzone (Butyl Methoxydibenzoylmethane)
A premium UVA filter offering strong protection in the 320–400 nm range, Avobenzone is essential for anti-aging skincare and long-exposure sun products. It is oil-soluble and commonly used at 3–5% concentration. Though it is photo unstable on its own, it performs well when stabilized with ingredients like Octocrylene. Ideal for emulsions and lotions, it blends smoothly with cosmetic oils and emulsifiers.
2. Benzophenone-3 (Oxybenzone)
Benzophenone-3 is a broad-spectrum chemical UV filter used in sunscreens, lip care, and daily wear products. It absorbs both UVB and short
UVA rays, helping to prevent skin damage. Used at 6–10% concentration, it enhances protection when paired with other filters. However, its environmental impact (especially on coral reefs) has led to regulatory restrictions in some areas. Best suited for non-reef-exposed formulations.
3. OMC (Octyl Methoxycinnamate / Ethylhexyl Methoxycinnamate)
A widely-used UVB filter, OMC provides effective protection from sunburn-causing rays (280–310 nm). It offers a smooth feel and improves product spreadability, making it excellent for cosmetic and lightweight sunscreen formulations. Used at concentrations up to 10%, it combines well with stabilizers like Avobenzone or Octocrylene for improved efficacy.
4. Micronized Titanium Dioxide (TiO₂)
This physical sunscreen agent is highly photostable, safe, and non-irritating—ideal for children, sensitive skin, or post-procedure care. As a micronized or nano-form, it appears transparent on the skin while offering broad UVA/UVB protection through light reflection and scattering. It is environmentally safe (reef-friendly) and often combined with Zinc Oxide for full-spectrum coverage. Concentration typically ranges from 2% to 25%.
